You did it! You purchased your first property! Tell Mom and Dad thanks for the 20 plus years of hospitality but you are leaving now. Sure they will miss cooking for you, picking up after you and doing your laundry, but I’m sure they will get over it…eventually. Like many first-time buyers you were probably drawn to a condominium as it had the affordability and convenience you were looking for. So you move into your new digs and your initial plan is to bring some of your old furniture from your parents house to furnish the place. After all, after purchasing your first property your not as flush as you used to be. However, you may want to rethink that plan because lets face it, nothing makes a condo look smaller than over-sized furniture meant for a 2500 sq ft house. Do not fret as there are so many people living the condo lifestyle these days that retailers big and small are now catering to them, and designing furniture exclusively for condo living. So when you go shopping for furniture next instead of saying “can I get that in Grey?” say “can I get that in Grey and Condo-size please”!
