Design Trends in 2022

design trends in 2022

Is it time to let go of the old and embrace the new?

As we embrace multipurpose spaces, working from home, and a sense of seclusion, our residences and how we utilize them have radically changed and evolved. The following are a few condo design trends that are expected to be big in 2022:

More vintage than ever before.

With shortages and supply chain concerns, recognizing and celebrating one-of-a-kind finds will become more crucial. Vintage shopping is not only cost-effective and environmentally friendly, but it also adds character to a room.

Dark colours and earth tones.

The new neutrals are brown, copper, and other earthy tones. In the world of interior design, earthy textures, raw materials, and greenery are becoming increasingly popular.

Bring on the textured fabrics.

Expect a lot of velvets, sherpas, and other textured textiles, perhaps as a reaction to a year and a half spent getting snug at home. These materials give a room a sophisticated and opulent appearance. Fringe, too, is making a comeback, particularly on sofas and ottomans.

Accents in black.

This year, black accents are back (as if they were ever gone!) Black accents are a terrific way to give more austere settings some edge and depth. When the main features, such as the walls and furniture, are neutral hues, black offers contrast.

Natural materials are used.

Every area of our life has become more environmentally conscious, and interior design is no exception. Natural materials are excellent neutrals that instantly add a sense of elegance and style to any room. Wood, marble, clay, terracotta, and even concrete are available in a variety of colours and styles to complement practically any decor style.
